Having come to fame in the 2002 Idols show, Ayanda now releases her long-awaited solo album. Working in the Afro-pop genre, MUSIC2ME (UMNGOMA)  is Ayanda's album that also features elements of Zulu folk, American R&B and Hip Hop. The sparkling songstress has penned most of the songs for the 14-track album.

MUSIC2ME (UMNGOMA) addresses a myriad of personal concerns and social themes in an uplifting, refreshing and motivational fashion. This sublimely beautiful album is also about self-affirmation ("Move Over"), pride in shared heritage ("Umngoma") and spirituality ("Khonokhona").

Umngoma features the traditional praise-singing virtuosity of well-known Xhosa griot, Zolani Mkiva. "My music is essentially about honesty and scincerity, and that explains why Mkiva's contribution is so critical", says Ayanda. "In Umngoma I thank my family and forebears for the valuable lessons they bestowed on me - lessons about life, African wisdom, and mortality".
